Michael has a track record of implementing ‘Lean’ manufacturing techniques and is proficient in process optimisation studies, with success in efficiency savings, surpassing targets and achieving Best Practice Status. Some career highlights for Michael include:
- Working with Darron SBO as Interim Production and Supply Chain Manager, developed and managed the manufacturing strategy to achieve a budget increase from £18 million to £29 million.
- Implemented system-generated scheduling reports for Darron SBO to reduce operational delays from 1,000 to 100 days.
- Whilst at Darron SBO, achieved above budget half-year sales and profit.
- Led a team of Production Schedulers whilst at Darron SBO and increased throughput from £1 million to £2 million per month.
- At Biffa Waste Services Ltd, identified key operational improvements reducing customer quote times from one week to three days.
- Developed costings and leads with several key logistics companies, setting the framework for BWS to deal with its non-core transport fleet.
