A procurement expert with extensive global purchasing and business management know-how and a track record of delivering outstanding results, Paul has helped some of the world's leading companies deliver multi-million year-on-year cost and cash improvement, strengthen supply chain performance and build stronger relationships with the business' internal partners.

Paul boasts a thriving career as an interim procurement expert. He is a partner within a leading business and supply chain education, coaching and consultancy partnership which provides public courses, tailored courses, workshops, interim management, consulting and coaching for companies operating in the manufacturing and supply chain sectors.

Working through Executives Online, Paul completed a successful assignment as Global Procurement Strategy Manager for biopharmaceuticals leader Lonza. In this role Paul:

• Assessed, re-engineered and led the global procurement function
• Recommended improvement strategies to the global chemicals business procurement function in Basel
• Planned and delivered a major total value improvement across the product and service spend
• Directly negotiated and completed many major agreements including - Property, Capital, Consultants, Auditors, Legal, Integrated Services, BioSafety Testing Services, Raw Materials and Consumables, and other outsourcing projects.

He has additionally consulted to a leading chemicals industry association and a major pharmaceutical active ingredient producer.

Paul's corporate career includes roles as Global Purchasing Manager for ICI Plc and European Sourcing Director for Crown Cork & Seal, with each having procurement budgets in excess of $2 billion. His responsibility has extended throughout the Australian, North America, Latin America, Asia, and UK regions or businesses. For Crown Cork & Seal, Paul was based in Paris and Munich.

Throughout his tenure with these two world-leading corporations, Paul's work achieved a step change in culture from non integrated monofunctional local buying to global cross-functional procurement leadership teams. Key brands and products were successfully innovated and re-engineered.

Earlier roles included a 12-year tenure in purchasing for Borden Group, and Paul's work as Purchasing Director for packaging materials manufacturer Huhtamaki Van Leer.
